Despite our best efforts\, a large swathe of Industry as well as trainers are unaware of the possibilities of UX Design and think about it as a burden. He was lauded for the exemplary work done by him in Worldskills International Invitational Competition in China. \nInternational (Shenzhen) Invitational Competition is part of the preparation for Worldskills that is being held in September 2024 at Lyon France. \nFounded in 1950\, WorldSkills is the global hub for skills excellence and development. WorldSkills brings youth\, industries\, and educators together to give youth the chance to compete\, experience\, and learn how to become the best in their skill of choice. From the traditional trades to multi-skilled technology careers in the industry and service sectors\, supported by partners\, industries\, governments\, volunteers\, and educational institutions\, WorldSkills’ vision is to improve the world through the power of skills. It has 85 member countries and regions\, all working with youth\, educators\, governments\, and industries to help prepare the workforce and talent of today for the jobs of the future. \nIndiaSkills 2023 National Competition was held from 16-18 May 2024 at Yashobhoomi\, Dwarka\, New Delhi. Participants from 26 states/ union territories displayed their talent in 54 skills such as design\, graphics\, beauty therapy\, cyber security\, floristry robot system integration\, cloud computing\, water technology\, painting and decorating\, health and social care\, among others. The candidates will compete against more than 1\,400 participants from over 60 countries competing in 63 skills. A biennial competition\, WorldSkills Competition has become popular over the years and is a global hub for skill excellence\, bringing together skilled youth of diverse backgrounds and nations. \nIndiaSkills Competition is organised by National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC)\, an apex skill development organisation working under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE). IndiaSkills\, the country’s biggest skill competition\, is designed to demonstrate the highest standards of skilling and offers a platform to young people to showcase their talent at national and international levels. IndiaSkills Competition—regional and national—is held every two years with the support of state governments\, industry\, Sector Skill Councils (SSCs)\, State Skill Development Missions (SSDMs)\, corporates and partner institutes. IndiaSkills Competition has the potential to reach the grassroot level and make an impact. \nWorldskills 2024 would take place at Lyon\, France from 10-15 September 2024. PGGCG 42 successfully hosted ASIFA International Animation Day at the campus on 1 Feb 2024. \nThe Speakers were Mangat Chauhan (Sr. Animation Supervisor Motu Patlu and Mentor SXILL) and Vineet Raj Kapoor (UX Design Mentor at Chandigarh Design School). \nNeelu Kapoor\, Founder SXILL graced the occasion with her presence. \nBikramjit Singh (Production Head\, Virtualsoft) shared the History of ASIFA and it’s mission. He commented on how ASIFA works hard to bring awareness about these careers across the world. ASIFA Chandigarh has been conducting various seminars across the city to do it’s part. \nMangat Chauhan briefed the students about the entire animation pipeline and various career opportunities across the entire process of making animation movies. \nVineet Raj Kapoor\, Founder Chandigarh Design School\, told the students about various Design Careers as well as how to make their own roadmaps to achieve success in those careers. Art in it’s zest jumps ahead creating gaps just like the Mendeleev’s table\, and it is for us\, to find the technology that can meet the expectations and fill the gaps. \nCommenting on AI\, Vineet said\, “AI is not capable of thinking ahead. It is instead a good servant who can do repetitive tasks with the accuracy unknown to man. However\, it is incapable of decisions.”
