Chandigarh, India
Chandigarh Design School is proud to announce that Kovid Gangrade, a participant in its intensive Digital Interactive Media Design (DIMD) Bootcamp held in March 2026, has been selected to represent India in the Digital Interactive Media Design (DIMD) skill at WorldSkills Shanghai 2026.
Kovid, who secured the Silver Medal at IndiaSkills 2025-2026, has earned his place among India’s elite skill champions and will now carry the nation’s hopes onto the global stage at the world’s largest skills competition.
The achievement reinforces Chandigarh Design School’s growing reputation as one of India’s leading institutions for UI/UX Design training, a discipline that forms the core foundation of the Digital Interactive Media Design skill.
The March 2026 DIMD Bootcamp was designed to bridge the gap between national-level performance and international competition standards. Through focused mentoring, rigorous practice modules, performance reviews, and competition-oriented training, participants were exposed to the expectations of global skills competitions.
Kovid was personally trained and groomed by Vineet Raj Kapoor, Chief Expert for DIMD at IndiaSkills North-East Regionals, alongside Jasjeet Singh, IndiaSkills Regional Jury member. The bootcamp also benefited from the expertise of Mangat Chauhan, Creative Director of the popular animation franchise Motu Patlu, and Abhishek Saini, Graphics Trainer and Design Mentor.

The training initiative was further strengthened by the dedicated support of Neelu Kapoor (Mentor) and the coordination efforts of Shripal Singh and Preeti Lama, who ensured a structured and high-performance learning environment throughout the bootcamp.
Speaking on the achievement, Vineet Raj Kapoor said:
“Kovid’s selection is a testament to his dedication, perseverance, and willingness to continuously improve. Our objective during the bootcamp was not merely to prepare candidates for national competitions, but to elevate their thinking and execution to international standards. We are delighted to see that effort reflected in his selection for WorldSkills Shanghai 2026.”
Digital Interactive Media Design combines user experience design, user interface design, graphic communication, interaction design, prototyping, branding, and digital product thinking.
