Vineet Raj Kapoor delivers Keynote for BRICS Academy Xiamen China Event

It was a proud moment for SXILL Founder Vineet Raj Kapoor to deliver a Keynote Address to the august gathering at Xiamen, China for the BRICS Auditorium of Skills Development and Technology Innovation Forum held on 25 May 2024 and The 2nd Standard Formulation Seminar on BRICS Technology and Skill Standardization Construction Facilitating the High-Quality Development of Standards held on 26-27 May 2024 by BRICS Business Council Skills Development, Applied Technology and Innovation Working Group undertaken by BRICS Academy of Skills Development and Technology Innovation (Xiamen), China.

The forum focuses on the new era of cross-border e-commerce and its development for integration of industry and education, with the aim to promote the development of cross-border e-commerce in BRICS countries, strengthen the integration of industry and education, improve the competitiveness of talents, and promote cooperation within BRICS countries.

Vineet Raj Kapoor (IDT Lead Expert Worldskills representing India, and Founder SXILL and Chandigarh Design School) shared “Participating as a Keynote Speaker in a BRICS Event is a privilege. And working together towards a sustainable world is what attracted me towards the event. I was surprised at the direct invitation but I go by ‘vasudaiva kutumbakam’ so I love to collaborate so there was no second thought.”

During the speech he talked about BRICS Nations skill together and grow together to solve the issues facing the world in a sustainable manner. He talked about cooperation for improvement in talent quality. He reminded the audience about a key focus of BRICS for poverty alleviation through skill development. He also highlighted the need for skills of UIUX Design to solve problems.

Chandigarh Design School as Expert Lead at Worldskills 2024 France

Chandigarh, 14 Sep 2024 – Indian IDT Expert Vineet Raj Kapoor as Expert Lead at Worldskills 2024 Lyon France.

Chandigarh Design School Founder, and SXILL Cofounder Vineet Raj Kapoor reach Lyon on 5 September 2024 to discharge his duties as Expert Lead as part of the Skill Management Team for Industrial Design Technology. The Indian Candidate Abhin Mittal finished in 5th Position in Industrial Design Technology at Worldskills France.

The Skill Management Team is formed of select experts from different nations, and they collaborate to work towards having a successful Worldskills competition. They are involved in various aspect of the conduction of the Skill Competition. The current Skill Management Team in Worldskills IDT consists of Experts from China, Taiwan, Korea and India. During the Competition he was also proposed as Chief Expert for the next Worldskills for which elections would be held.

He attended every meeting at the WSI France, and contributed positively to every meeting and well as brought forth important ideas which were implemented to ensure smooth conduct of the competition. The current CE both liked and welcomed his ideas and implemented them right away. Whenever there was an issue with the marking scheme, he contributed proactively instead of waiting for it to peter out. He even brought serious issues to attention of the CCD without disrupting the competition or demanding immediate resolve, since he understands that slips can happen, and the idea is to improve.

He personally motivated and encouraged each of the IDT competitors and handled them calmly during issues.

Post competition, he provided prompt feedback and wrote a detailed mail as well as prepared a presentation to share the issues so that we can improve in future.

He has been to World's Top Design Colleges including Sheridan College, Canada, Gobelins, France, NUST MISIS, Russia, as well as Konkuk University, Kyung Hee University and others at South Korea and understands the difference in practices across the world, and have the sensitivity to deal with it. Currently he runs his own design studio, as well as training institute and have also been in touch with a lot of students and teachers from across the world, often exchanging ideas and advice.

He has been the Founding Dean at Chitkara Design School (2016-2023). He has worked in technical as well as management side of corporate sector too. With a lot of experience behind him, he could handle the duties of Lead Expert very well.

Indian IDT Expert Vineet Raj Kapoor selected Expert Lead for Worldskills Skill Management Team.

Chandigarh Design School Founder, and SXILL Cofounder Vineet Raj Kapoor is India’s Worldskills Expert for Industrial Design Technology. Vineet Raj Kapoor was selected as India’s Expert in 2022 and had selected and trained India’s Competitors for the Worldskills 2023. These competitors came from NID Ahmedabad, MIT Pune and other colleges of India.

He continues to help Indiaskills find India’s best design talents in IDT, by helping design and conduct tests as well as train students.

He has been selected to be a part of the Worlskills Skill Management Team for IDT. The Skill Management Team is formed of select experts from different nations, and they collaborate to work towards having a successful Worldskills competition. They are involved in various aspect of the conduction of the Skill Competition. The current Skill Management Team in Worldskills IDT consists of Experts from China, Taiwan, Korea and India.

WorldSkills Lyon 2024 is set to take place 10-15 September 2024, following the postponement of the 46th WorldSkills Competition in Shanghai, China by one year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. France won the bid to host the 47th WorldSkills Competition at WorldSkills General Assembly 2019 in Kazan, Russia.
It is the second time for France and Lyon to be the host in the history of the international championship. The 33rd WorldSkills Competition previously took place in 1995 at EUREXPO Lyon, the same venue that will now host WorldSkills Lyon 2024.
WorldSkills Competition Lyon 2024 is a strong commitment to youth and their future which generates unprecedented international mobilization around skills, competences and excellence.
Despite the one-year postponement of the competition due to the pandemic, the plan to host the global competition remains the same: to inspire young people in skills, promote skills and change the perception on vocational education and training.
WorldSkills Lyon 2024 is also a national project centered around the regions, in particular the Metropolis of Lyon. It will be THE springboard and catalyst to develop and promote professional training adapted to current and future needs in terms of employment.
The competition and Team WorldSkills France, which both are a result of the mobilization of regions and the commitment of partners to WorldSkills France, are the first vectors of inspiration for young people and a tangible proof for the next generations of the relevance of skills and competences in a career and personal life with high potential.

Chandigarh, 16 Sep 2024 – Chandigarh Design School Founder, and SXILL Cofounder Vineet Raj Kapoor was Invited to visit world’s top Gaming and Animation Schools, ISART Digital at Paris, France for a discussion meeting with the Director International Collaborations Mr. Azad Lusbaronian. ISART is one the top Gaming and Animation Schools of France. Vineet Raj Kapoor was personally given a complete campus tour at ISART by the Director (International Collaborations).

Vineet Raj Kapoor shares, “I have known Azad for more than a decade. I was lucky to catch him finally at ISART. It was a great discussion about Animation and Game Design, and it’s future course. ACE Fair was held on 26-29 September 2024 at Kimdaejung Centre, Gwangju, South Korea.

The Indian Delegation led by Vineet Raj Kapoor (Founder SXILL & Chandigarh Design School) had delegates from Media Guru, Mumbai (Subhashish Mazumdar), Powertoons, Hyderabad (Ashish Saxena), MESC India, New Delhi (Roshni Sehgal), Mugafi, Mumbai (Vipul Aggarwal & Tansha Batra), Elle Animation, Bhubhaneshwar (Chandrashekhar Bhuyan & Santosh Reddy), Ssoftoons Entertainment and Media, Kolkata (Hansa & Sourav Mondal), Just VFX, Hyderabad (Sridhar Reddy), Snipix, Hyderabad (Chilamkurthi Vamsi), Start Animation, Hyderabad (Rakesh) and Khaja Vali (TVAGA, Hyderabad) were part of the large delegation from India by Virtualsoft. Other Indian studios were Bhasinsoft Studios, Alliance Studios, Aha, and Crossover Studios.

TVAGA pavillion was part of the Indian delegation and helped smaller Studios from Telengana showcase their work and get exposure about international markets. Indians represented one of the largest International contingents at ACE Fair this time.

Start Animation Studios, India signed an MoU with an International Studio on 27 Sep, 2024 during the MoU signing ceremony.

The Studios had between 12-20 pre-arranged B2B meetings each. Each participating studio was picked up (and dropped back) from Incheon Airport, Seoul and provided with a full time interpreter as well as a free ticket to the CDC Conference. They were also invited to a grand welcome party on the opening day.

On Day 3, the Studios were all invited to a city tour to Gwangju Biennale, and after a sumptuous Bibimbap lunch at a traditional Korean restaurant went to visit Yangnim Dong Culture Village.

The night time was a time of bonding with other Indian Studios and helped them understand each other's capabilities and possibilities of collaboration.

DES University Interaction Session by Vineet Raj Kapoor

Chandigarh Design School Founder Vineet Raj Kapoor, did a special interactive session for the students of Animation, Media and UIUX for a select group of students at DES University, Pune. The workshop was attended by more than 80 students at LH-513, Media School, DES University Campus. The prestigious Deccan Education Society, runs more than 400 colleges across Maharashtra including the Fergusson College at Pune.

Vineet Raj Kapoor (Indian IDT Lead Expert Worldskills, and Founder SXILL and Chandigarh Design School) shared “Training students from DES University was a wonderful opportunity. We trained them in various approaches to success in Animation and UI UX Careers. Being a practitioner and trainer of UX Design and Design Thinking since 2014, I was aware of the huge gap between theory and practice that exists in India even in the top institutes. So we focused on problem finding right from the start, and also about developing personas, and taking it from there to concept design, while passing through various phases like user journey mapping and other steps.” He quipped, “Don’t worry all this would be part of my upcoming book – SOLVXD: Think in Steps – that would be coming out soon.

Venu, a 2nd Year student of Bachelors in Animation, stated that, “I lacked confidence in my abilities, but after Vineet Sir’s talk, I feel motivated enough to take on any challenge. I have been part of GO48 International Competitions backed by SXILL and Chandigarh Design School and desire to win a medal this year.”

Ankit Jain, Co-rodinator Director at DES University, said, “The talk was really good, as usual I must say since I had also had the pleasure of hosting him earlier. Vineet Sir is a leading educationist in the Design and Animation Sector. There’s always a lot to learn from him. He is very well connected with all top studios of India. Pune University Design Thinking FDP conducted by CDS Founder Chandigarh Design School Founder

Chandigarh Design School Founder Vineet Raj Kapoor trained a select group of Pune University Faculty in Design Thinking. He took the important sessions on Design Thinking for “Impact of Storytelling” and “Case Studies – Innovation and Entrepreneurship”. The FDP was attended by 45 Faculty across Pune University. The FDP was held at ASSIM Engineering College, Pune.

Vineet Raj Kapoor (IDT Lead Expert Worldskills representing India, and Founder SXILL and Chandigarh Design School) shared “Training Faculty from Pune University was a wonderful opportunity. The Faculty Development Program happened on 6 December 2024. We took care to equip them with enough examples and cases of Storytelling as well as for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, in a manner that they are able to retain the information and put it in perspective since Design Thinking is a complex subject and is largely misrepresented. We trained them in various approaches to Design Thinking, and especially sensitized and trained them in the toughest field of empathetic thinking, since that is what most UX Designers in India lack. Being a practitioner and trainer of UX Design and Design Thinking since 2014, I feel responsible for the state of UIUX Design in India. Despite our best efforts, a large swathe of Industry as well as trainers are unaware of the possibilities of UX Design and think about it as a burden. We are doing our best to rectify the situation by giving great manpower to the starved Software Industry in India.” He quipped, “Don’t worry all this would be part of my upcoming book – SOLVXD: Think in Steps – that would be coming out soon.

Neelu Kapoor (Indiaskills Graphic Design Technology Jury) and Founder SXILL mentioned, “This was the third time Chandigarh Design School tendered a Faculty Development Program at Pune University. Earlier we have done programs for Thapar University, Chitkara University, GNDU, Panjab University among others. We are also doing international Programs in Design Thinking with leading institutions abroad. We are aware that training a faculty is much more important as it can directly impact the lives of 1000s of students.”
